Philip Alfred Mickelson is a American professional golfer. He has won four main championships and a total of 38 events on the PGA Tour. He has achieved a career high world ranking of 2nd in multiple years. He is nicknamed "Lefty" for his left-handed swing, he is otherwise right-handed. According to approximation by Fortune Magazine, Mickelson's income for 2007 was over $51 million, with $47 million coming from endorsements. He was able to bypass the Tour's qualify process because of his 1991 Tucson win. He continued to win several PGA Tour tournaments, including the Byron Nelson Golf Classic and the World Series of Golf in 1996.

He won the Buick Invitational in 2000, defeating Tiger Woods and ending his streak of successive tournament victories at six. Mickelson's first major championship win arrived at the 2004 Masters. During the third round of the 2006 Ford Championship at Doral, Mickelson gave $200 to a viewer after his wayward tee shot at the par-5 10th broke the man's watch. Mickelson won for the first time in 2009 by defensive his title at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club. On April 11, 2010, Mickelson won the 2010 Masters Tournament with a 16-under-par presentation, giving him a three stroke win over Lee Westwood in Augusta, Georgia.
